UPDATES FROM 2025 ONWARD
After almost two years, I am resuming my contributions to the blog, to further explore the topics covered and to update my experiences regarding the evolutionary path of the conscious Ego. To comment, you can send an email to info@vitaumana.it
CONSCIOUSNESS AND THE EGO (March 2026)
Consciousness as the foundation of existence(it is worth recalling the opportunity to distinguish between existence as an object or representation by a conscious subject, and the recognition of its own existence by a subject that is aware of itself and knows it exists; through our mental processes, we can also hypothesize that there is something even in the absence of any form of consciousness that can perceive it and validate its existence, however it does not seem correct to me to define this condition as «existence»; indeed, the most complete form of existence is that of a subject endowed with a self-consciousness that makes it aware of existing)
The change of state of the conscious Ego in the NDEs(in several NDEs the consciousness of the Ego separates from the organism more or less instantly, to connect with an independent non-organic form through which the Ego can observe its own organism as an external object, towards which it often no longer feels any interest; a case of drowning is examined, which represents a significant example of the sudden way in which this process occurs)
The condition of the conscious Ego during dreams(already during normal organic life the Ego regularly experiences two distinct conditions, depending on whether it is in the ordinary waking state or in the dream state, in which it can experience more or less lucidly events, sensations, feelings and emotions that can involve it intensely as if they were real, at least until – once it returns to the ordinary waking state – it classifies them as dream phenomena; similarly, once organic life is over, the conscious Ego could move into a new mental state, in which everything that happened to it during its human life would be evaluated as if it had been a dream phenomenon)
A strange existential dualism(what happens in many NDEs with regard to the separation of the conscious Ego from the organism to which it was linked in the ordinary waking state, and partly also in the dream state, implies an existential dualism that cannot be attributed to the functioning of the brain as we experience and know it during organic life, because the new condition of separation of the Ego from the body presents modes of operation and functioning that are completely anomalous compared to those that are attributed to the brain as a sensor, interpreter and regulator of the life and survival needs of the organism of which it is a part)
A different way of feeling and evaluating(during human life the conscious Ego is normally tied to its own organism and conditioned by the dynamics of the psyche that this tie imposes on it, transforming it into a psychic Ego and forcing it to function as such, both as a sensor and as the intentional planner of its organism's behaviour; instead, once freed from the bonds of its own organism, the conscious Ego can transform itself into a spiritual Ego almost instantly, experiencing a completely different dimension in which its experiences are much more in harmony with what it feels is its authentic essence: numerous NDEs testify to this very transformation, which is almost incredible for those who have always lived tied to their own organism and its natural needs)

INFORMATION AND EMERGENT PROPERTIES (October 2025)
The concept of change and that of emergent property(after some preliminary considerations regarding the changes that occur and that can be recorded within a predefined space between an initial time A and a later time B, emergent properties are defined that gradually emerge over time as a consequence of increasingly complex interactions between substances and energies already present within a system, as they are interpreted and processed by the conscious and intelligent activity of the human mind)
Time, consciousness and human knowledge(if the interpretive hypothesis according to which human consciousness, intellect and intent are emergent properties of a single creative process which, in its evolutionary development, seeks to know itself through the flow of time is true, we must recognize that humankind is still in the initial stages of this evolution, which does not unfold in a harmonious and progressive way; it cannot be ruled out that the events we encounter in this world shaped by human beings, and the effects that follow, are determined by the interaction between two different forms of creative energy, which manifest and impose themselves on our consciousness through the bipolar dynamics of the human psyche)
The existence and role of the conscious Ego(every conscious Ego makes its own contribution – be it minimal or great, positive or negative – to the history of humankind, and this is its social role, whose duration is nevertheless limited by the life of the organism to which it is linked; as for its own fate once its organism is definitively dead, the conscious Ego has no certainties, but possibly hopes, fears, or forms of fideistic conviction; in recent times the belief has also gained widespread acceptance that with the death of the organism the conscious Ego completely ceases to exist; those who are interested in gathering information on the possible continuation of the existence of the conscious Ego after the death of the organism dedicate themselves to the study of mediumistic phenomena and communications and non-ordinary states of consciousness such as NDEs)
The conscious Ego as an emergent property(when the conscious Ego begins to recognize and understand itself as an emergent property of the creative process that determined the evolution of organic life on our planet, it also questions its own role in participating in the interpretation and continuation of this process through the creative resources of the mind with which it is endowed; although this function is still performed today mostly under the direction of the human psyche, the conscious Ego can feel more or less clearly the influence of a form of energy to which it feels attracted, certainly different from the bipolar and often conflictual one of the psyche; the Ego can perceive the presence of this energy in all the immensity of the universe, whereas the energy of the human psyche appears to be limited to the one planet in which its organism lives, as far as it knows)

FEDERICO FAGGIN'S BOOKS AND THEORIES (August 2025)
Federico Faggin(physicist Federico Faggin, inventor of the microprocessor, has developed a theory he calls QIP – Quantum Information-based Panpsychism – according to which a form of consciousness and intent is attributed to every quantum probability field)
A brief exposition of Faggin's theory: part one(the considerations underlying Faggin's theory – as presented in the first part of his book Irreducible, with particular emphasis on quantum theory and on consciousness – are summarized and examined also in light of their analogies with some of the topics discussed on this site)
A brief exposition of Faggin's theory: part two(after highlighting how quantum theory is a useful and effective conceptual construct of the human mind to interpret experimental results, Faggin's holistic theory is examined, according to which the physical reality that we perceive must be interpreted as a manifestation and emanation of a unitary quantum reality, the One, which wants to know itself through the experiences of increasingly complex conscious entities endowed with intent, called seities; we then consider the similarities and differences between Faggin's theory and the theory of the holistic universe – also based on quantum physics – developed in the 1970s by the American physicist David Bohm)
It's hard to interpret the fragmentation of the One in light of the attunements of the human psyche(the fragmentation of the One into a plurality of entities, from the simplest to the most complex, presents many controversial aspects and interpretative problems which Faggin glosses over, while claiming that his theory aims to encompass every aspect of human experience; this is an orientation that often characterizes those who are under the influence of the positive polarity of the human psyche, without having the resources to differentiate themselves from their own psyche to a sufficient extent to be able to observe the psyche's dynamics with a critical spirit)
The uncertain implications of time(our interpretation of the flow of events over time in physical reality is determined by the way the human mind perceives time, which may change in a dimension other than the ordinary one, as reported, for example, by testimonies relating to numerous NDEs; therefore Faggin's statement according to which the One wants to know itself through the transformations of the parts-wholes emanating from it – which in turn interact and communicate with each other to know themselves – is not clear, since time itself is either an emanation – a seity – of the One, or exists independently of the One, thus denying that the latter is the totality of what exists)
